Brilliance Labs & Multiply PDX Portland-area Missional Grant
Happy summer, friends! We are currently between our Spring and Fall granting rounds, but we’re excited to share a new grant program we’re launching in partnership with Multiply PDX. The ‘missional grant’ is a micro-grant, specifically for local churches, meant to prompt churches to encourage their members to meaningfully engage and reach their communities. This program is a matching grant, which will match up to $800 per church for as many “missional” ideas as they can encourage their members to carry out. The more members involved, the better! However, since this is a pilot program, we will only be able to fund three churches for this round. So, we encourage everyone to apply as soon as possible.

VISION:
Multiply PDX and Brilliance Labs are committed to seeing new initiatives that serve the greater Portland area spring up from the various churches in and around our city. In that spirit, we hope to help churches award several grants to empower Christians to launch new ministries, think through creative ways to reach unbelievers, and serve their neighbors in a way that declares the Gospel in both word and deed to our city.
CRITERIA:
In order for a ministry to be considered, the following criteria must first be met:
Local - Missional grants are designated specifically towards creating ministries to serve our city of Portland and the surrounding region as well as the churches in our area. Ministry ideas that serve international ministries and/or missions fall outside the parameters of the missional grant. Some great examples of a ministry idea might be an outreach lunch for the neighbors of your church during the holidays or in the summer, care packages for your homeless neighbors, some type of evangelistic event in your church’s neighborhood, an event for kids, a competitive sports event, or training/equipping materials for your members to better reach the lost with the Gospel. Folks can get creative here!
Church-mobilization - A successful missional grant application will show how their new ministry idea will mobilize other followers of Christ to put their faith into action in our city and how it will work to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who need to hear it. Ideally, this ministry idea will seek to display both the proclamation of the Gospel as well a demonstration of what it looks like to embody the Gospel and live and serve in a way that showcases Jesus, thus softening people’s hearts to see and believe the message they’re hearing.
Committed to a local church body - Applicants should be actively involved in and committed to a local church body.
The deadline to apply for this grant is August 22nd and the time window to complete the project and submit the details for the grant is December 31st.
