FAQs

Why start churches?

We believe healthy churches are an essential part of a flourishing neighborhood. For many, it’s where faith and culture meet and can be celebrated together.

What kinds of churches do you support?

We love collaboration, especially when we can bring people from diverse backgrounds to the table. We partner across denominational and ethnic lines with a focus on empowering Christians of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds to plant churches wherever they’re needed. We also believe in sustainable financial models that don’t have an artificial “make-it or break-it” date for a church plant to be “successful.” We help church planters think through alternative sustainability models that allow them to focus on serving the needs of their community first and foremost.

Where do you plant churches?

Our focus is the Portland-Vancouver Metro Area and the surrounding rural communities. In these areas, our particular focus is neighborhoods and communities that are unreached and under-resourced.

Do you help existing churches?

Yes! We’re passionate about church revitalization in under-resourced communities — especially when we can match aging congregations with new leaders and new opportunities for community impact.

How do you help start churches?

We provide funding and connections with partners who can provide training and coaching.

Why do you focus on under-resourced neighborhoods and leaders who are serving in neglected spaces?

In the Book of Acts, the Jerusalem Council commends the apostle Paul to “remember the poor” and the book of James warns church leaders about the dangers of giving attention to the rich and neglecting the poor. We fund projects that will have an impact among demonstrably under-resourced communities, whether socially, economically, or spiritually. We believe that the call of the Great Commission and the principles of biblical righteousness compel us to focus our resources on the areas of greatest need.

How do I apply for funding?

Want to back a new church?

We can help make Jesus known, together. Whether it’s your congregation or your network, your support can further the Gospel into more under-reached neighborhoods in our city.
