Spring 2023 Micro-Grant Awards

Brilliance Labs is proud to announce the recipients of our third round of micro-grant awards. These micro-grants carry the legacy of Central Bible Church by funding churches and organizations that are making a difference in our city, especially among those under-resourced or otherwise neglected by majority culture churches and ministries.

House of Healing

House of Healing is a relatively new church plant located in the NE part of Portland. They are actively seeking to reach their community, specifically the under-churched and un-churched. While the congregation is predominantly made up of African-American people, the church is open and engaging towards people of all ethnic backgrounds. One of the ways they are working to reach and serve their community is by growing their children’s ministry; namely, to get Bibles into the hands of young people and provide various Sunday school classes.

Brilliance Labs awarded House of Healing a $2,500 grant to fund their children’s ministry.

Humble Beast

Humble Beast exists to cultivate, equip, and disciple creatives in the Church. Having functioned as everything from a record label to book publisher, they seek to use all available avenues to help Christians grow; everything from conferences to podcasts to articles and much more. They work with creatives who write music and poetry, make films, and use their gifts in a variety of other ways, seeking to show God’s artistry through the work of His people.

Brilliance Labs awarded Humble Beast a $5,000 grant to be used for funding the production of a new podcast titled, ‘The Halftime Podcast with Shai Linne.’

LifeCity Church

LifeCity is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic church located in the heart of East Portland. Their pastor, Stefan, has a heart for reaching people on the fringes of society. The church is intentional about taking the needs of their immediate community seriously and doing what they can to meet those needs and to show Christ to people in need.

Brilliance Labs awarded LifeCity Church a $5,000 grant to use for a mental health clinic in their community, where they can offer professional counseling to people in need.

New Life Church

New Life Church is multi-campus church serving Gladstone, West Linn, Wilsonville, and the suburbs of Portland. They are focused on being a church that plants other churches and the leadership seeks to look to the suburbs as a strategic part of the city where they may serve people. Their newest church plant is in Oregon City and this plant has presented new and interesting ministry opportunities.

Brilliance Labs awarded New Life Church a $3,940.66 grant to help fund a podcast titled, ‘One Right Church.’ This podcast is specifically designed to reach people that are either presently in a cult or have come out of one. The goal with reaching these people is to help them come to know Christ and then to help them navigate life after the cult.
