Bitcoin Funds-Matching Micro-Grant Application

Thank you for taking the time to apply for a bitcoin funds-matching grant. You were nominated by a donor who would like to give bitcoin to your ministry. We want to help make the process of accepting and holding your first bitcoin donations as easy as possible. To that end, we will provide free coaching for your ministry to develop a bitcoin donation strategy and we will match your first bitcoin donations, up to 0.0021 BTC or $225, whatever is greater.

Here are the grant requirements and details:

  1. This fund is only available to churches/ministries that can affirm the National Association of Evangelicals’ statement of faith. On top of that, our granting committee makes the final decision on whether to fund a church or ministry. 

  2. This is a funds-matching grant for bitcoin donations received and held as bitcoin for at least nine months. All grants will be distributed nine months after the organization signs the grant agreement.

  3. We expect all recipients to use best practices for bitcoin security and integrity. We will only award a grant to organizations that custody their bitcoin with a vetted bitcoin exchange or who can demonstrate a strong cold-storage security setup that does not give any one individual access to their funds.

  4. This grant is available to registered 501c3 US-based churches and nonprofits. Proof of IRS designation is required.

  5. Here are the steps for the grant process: 1) Once you have filled out the application you will receive a free resource packet and an invite to schedule a free coaching call where you can ask any questions that you have about bitcoin fundraising and custody. 2) You will set up a bitcoin wallet/account for your organization (we can provide help if requested). 3) Share with your donors that you are now accepting bitcoin and begin to receive your first bitcoin donations. 4) Digitally sign a brief grant agreement that says you will only use your bitcoin grant for ministry purposes. 5) Approximately nine months after the grant agreement is signed we will send a brief survey where you will share the results of your bitcoin fundraising strategy and give us a deposit address so that we can send you the BTC funds-matching grant. 6) We will send the bitcoin grant up to a total value of 0.0021 BTC or $225 USD, whatever is greater at the time.
